PUREBREED DOG RESCUE
Chesapeake Kennel Club is an all breed dog club.
As such, it does not provide rescue services for any
one particular breed of dog.
Many of the club's members participate in rescue
programs for their particular breed of dog.
Members of our club are very sensitive to the
proper placement of dogs into homes that have
the right environment for their breed. We
understand that sometimes a dog doesn't work out
in a home for many different reasons.
If you have a purebred dog that you believe needs
to be placed in another home, we recommend that
you first attempt to contact the Breed Rescue
Group in your area for your particular breed or
contact a National Rescue Group. A list of National
Breed Rescue Groups can be found on the AKC
website by clicking here. They can refer you to a
local contact.
If you cannot find a contact by the above means,
Chesapeake Kennel Club will be glad to assist you
in finding the local contact for your breed. You can
email to the club rescue coordinator by clicking
here and explain your situation.
If your dog is not a purebreed, we recommend that
you contact one of the many animal rescue
organizations that exist for that purpose.
